What We Do

Knock Out Abuse West is a not for profit organization based in Los Angeles that raises awareness and funds for victims of domestic violence.
It's the new west coast sister to Knock Out Abuse in Washington DC.
Knock Out Abuse has raised over 11 million dollars to provide transitional support to more than 30,000 women and children whose lives have been shattered by abuse, poverty and homelessness.
Co-founded in 1993 by Jill Sorensen and Cheryl Masri the annual gala in DC is attended by over 800 of Washington's power women. In one night the event raises over seven hundred thousand dollars which benefits local domestic violence shelters.

The DC gala has become a must go to event by corporate executives, political leaders, philanthropists and friends that come together for an evening of inspiration, entertainment and raucous fundraising.

It has been attended by among many others, Hillary Clinton, Wolf Blitzer, Lenny Kravitz, Kathleen Turner, Senator Kristen Gillibrand. Two years in a row it was voted the number # 1 most popular event in DC ahead of the White House correspondence dinner.

In Los Angeles, Knock Out Abuse West hosted it's first annual event on June 16th, 2018.

With an annual fundraisers, a speaker series and other fund raising initiatives we raise funds that go directly to direct service providers that offer counseling, long and short term housing, legal assistance and necessary resources to help victims of domestic violence live happy, healthy and successful lives.
KOAW works with it's passionate supporters to bring attention to the devastating effect of domestic violence on its victims, their families and our community.
We envision a community free of domestic abuse with equal opportunities and rights for all.
